Madagascar does not make coming here as a tourist easy. The roads/highways and associated infrastructure is subpar to beaucoup subpar. It's difficult to make hotel reservations from abroad. Most places have only (if at all) 1999 circa webcrawler/netscape communicator looking websites. Oh yeah, and then there's AIRMAD--the national airline that's the only one allowed to operate for in-country flights.
Which is all a shame because this country has some beautiful, unique, once in a lifetime places to visit, mountains to climb, waters to swim in. Coming from abroad you probably need to hook up with a tour operator--again, not a lot of up to date online lists for that. Welp, here you go. Below is a list put together by a colleague of mine. The top two have English-speakers working there.
